01 Coaching
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps individuals or groups unlock their potential, achieve their goals, and live more fulfilling lives. It involves a trained coach who works with clients to identify their strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Coaching can be applied to various areas of life, including career development, personal growth, leadership, and team building. The goal is to empower individuals and teams to reach their full potential and live more fulfilling lives. Through a series of guided conversations, the coach helps clients:
- Clarify their goals and objectives: Defining what they want to achieve.
- Identify limiting beliefs or behaviors: Recognizing patterns that may be holding them back.
- Develop action plans: Creating concrete steps to move towards their goals.
- Build self-awareness and confidence: Understanding their strengths and potential.
- Overcome obstacles and challenges: Developing strategies to address difficulties.
At Apex we take a three pillars approach to our coaching engagements: (1) Metrics Matter, (2) Science & Data drive our decisions, and (3) Accountability reigns supreme.

Coaching Options: 1:1, Group & Team

1:1 Coaching
One-on-one coaching is the process of one person helping another overcome an issue or improve performance. It revolves around sharing experiences and knowledge around specific topics or areas, showing how to best approach different situations, and laying out the steps that should be used when executing the task.
A few examples of the most typical topics from 1:1 coaching are: Values alignment | Effective verbal and non-verbal communication | Becoming a better listener | Managing conflict | Career transition | Retirement | Setting boundaries | Preparing for difficult conversations | Feedback | Situational leadership | Collaboration | Accountabilit.
Group & Team Coaching
Similar to 1:1 coaching, team and group coaching is designed around each client and situation where the customer in team coaching is an actual team vs. in group coaching where we work with a collection of people pursuing a shared endeavor while pursuing individual performance objectives. The members of a group do not have a shared goal like they do in a team and the results will be focused more individually for each member of the group. Group and team coaching are often comparable; however, there is a distinction between the two. Group coaching brings together individuals with common personal or professional goals, helping them achieve these goals individually. Group coaching is a facilitative process that leverages the resources and knowledge of a group of individuals working on a common theme but having different individual performance goals. Team coaching is for existing teams with sufficient bandwidth to participate in a coaching journey. The team must be willing, able, and committed to change. Team coaching focuses on enhancing team dynamics and performance. It addresses collective goals and team collaboration to help the team operate as a single entity. Teams have shared objectives, and each member gives their best effort to help the team reach its objectives.
A few typical example topics from group or team coaching might include: Confrontation | Trust | Communication | Leadership identity | Authenticity | Collaboration | Resource management | Aligning objectives | Stakeholder engagement | Self-awareness | Organizational effectiveness
Fair & Equitable Pricing
Convinced coaching is for you, or at least ready to take the next step in exploring more? Our guess is that if you’ve gotten this far, you’re starting to wonder, “How much is this going to cost?” We believe you will get as much out of coaching as you invest in it. If the amount you’re paying is uncomfortable enough, you’ll invest the time and energy to get where you want. If your investment feels like an afterthought, you’re unlikely to make the investment necessary to make the change. However, at the same time, we don’t believe you should ever put yourself at financial risk to receive excellent coaching. We offer two primary 1:1 coaching subscriptions, one for new clients, and another for existing.
We think about coaching much like paying for a series of therapist consults, personal training sessions or yoga classes. This is an investment in your wellbeing, enabled by an expert in enabling you to shape the change you wish to seek in yourself. Many clients are successful at seeking reimbursement from their employer, covering most if not all of the costs for their coaching. While we are able to invoice client organizations and welcome the opportunity to engage directly with our clients’ sponsoring organizations, we will never share the details of our sessions. To get started, book a complementary consultation below. From there, we’ll begin to co-create our relationship, tailoring the format, schedule and cost to fit your needs.
Pricing for team and group coaching engagements will depend on several factors including the frequency and duration of engagements, preparation, and use of various instruments, e.g., Hogan Personality Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, 360-degree feedback delivery, etc.

02 Counseling
Financial counseling and financial planning are often used interchangeably, but there are subtle distinctions. Financial counseling typically involves providing guidance on short-term financial issues, such as budgeting, debt management, and credit counseling. Counselors often work with individuals or families facing immediate financial challenges. On the other hand, financial advisors take a more comprehensive approach, developing long-term financial strategies tailored to individual goals. They may assist with investment planning, retirement savings, estate planning, and other complex financial matters. While financial counselors focus on immediate needs, financial advisors help clients build a solid financial foundation for the future.
We take a three stage approach to our financial counseling sessions: (1) Assessment & Goal Setting, (2) Budgeting & Debt Management, and (3) Education & Empowerment.

Specialized Financial Counseling Expertise

From $1 to $1 Million+
Financial counseling can be beneficial for people regardless of their financial situation. For those with just $1, a counselor can help create a budget, identify resources for assistance, and develop a plan to build savings. For those with millions, a counselor can assist with complex financial planning, investment strategies, estate planning, and philanthropic endeavors. Both groups can benefit from personalized guidance, support, and strategies tailored to their unique financial goals and circumstances. While most of our financial counseling is focused on the former, we can provide referrals and have experience managing wealth in the latter as well. We meet our clients where they are in their financial journey.
Federal Employees
Federal employees have unique needs when it comes to financial and retirement planning. Because of these unique concerns, clients coming from the U.S. federal government should seek advisors and counselors with deep understanding of federal government employees’ benefits. Apex C³’s founder brings this perspective from several decades of federal service. Reclaiming your financial peace of mind for federal employees and retirees requires specialized guidance on all the foundational topics of finacial counseling plus: TSP, FEHB, FERS, Basic Pension Benefits, and Social Security.
Cost Shouldn't Stop You
Your financial well-being is paramount and the cost of counseling should never get in the way. We keep our prices low and our engagement model flexible to ensure everyone can receive the support they need. For new clients we offer a package of 3 one-hour sessions scheduled at any time over a two-month period and for ongoing financial counseling, we use a subscription model of 3 one-hour sessions scheduled over a three-month period. This approach allows us to dive into some of the underlying financial concerns and ensure we can best assess, budget and empower our clients for success.
